For 30 years, the owner of the family run Stephen Neall Group, Stephen Gee, had dreamed of owning the old dairy overlooked by his business premises on Prince Albert Row, Station Parade in central Harrogate. In 2007, those dreams became a reality and £0.75m refurbishment & fit-out of ‘The Factory’ began.
The inspiration for the name “The Factory” came from Andy Warhol’s original studio in New York often referred to as “The Silver Factory” because of the silver foil used on walls to create reflective light in the studios; likewise we also plan to subtly use silver tin foil somewhere in the building along with a collection of pop art images of our Team. Our Factory has been refurbished with the sole aim of creating a design centre, the heart of which is a mono brand store for one of the world’s leading furniture brands, Poliform.
Deceptively tucked away off of Victoria Avenue, you are transported into a 9000sq ft cool, calm and contemporary oasis of interior design at its best, showcasing Poliform’s collections alongside the finest Varenna kitchens. Complementing the UK’s established showroom on Kings Road, London, it seemed only appropriate to name our design centre Poliform North. Its exclusivity to the North of England aims to draw clients, interior designers & architects to a Northern hub of design & inspiration.
World renowned as a leading Italian furniture company, the Poliform heritage spans forty years of cabinet making. The heart of the Poliform and Varenna ethos is refinement and evolving design to create desirable, contemporary living solutions. The Poliform brand is today synonymous with luxury life style and unrivalled in quality. Poliform lines include systems and furnishings for the whole house: bookcases, complements, wardrobes and beds. In 1996, the company added kitchens to its collection through the acquisition of the Varenna brand. In 2006 the company launched its first collection of sofas and armchairs.
Poliform North now completely revolutionises the experience of shopping for your interior projects. A visit to us will offer a truly personalised design led service within an unusually spacious showroom environment. Inspirational design created in a truly inspirational setting.
