Rupert Jasen Smith was Andy Warhol’s printer and an important collaborator during the artisit’s later years. Smith’s best known and most collectible silkscreen prints are from his “Greta Garbo” Suite. This portfolio was actually conceived by Warhol but unrealised in his lifetime. Smith completed the project after his death and the quality of printmaking is considered equal to Warhol and among the best buys in the Pop Art market today.
The artist also designed and printed uniquely coloured silkscreen prints for the introduction to the portfolio of prints and writings by Keith and William Burroughs entitled “Apocalypse” published in 1988.
